2024 DRUMLINE

Eligibility: Any student in the SMHS attendance area who will be in grades 8-12 for the 2024-25 school year may audition. Mandatory after school practice begins the first week of school and is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00.

- Successfully pass the audition.
- Enroll in a Band class. Both Concert Band and Symphonic Band members are eligible for Drumline.
- Attend summer rehearsals and Band Camp. All students participating in Marching Band must have a WVSSAC Sports Physical form dated May 1, 2024 or later on file with the Band Director by the start of band camp to participate.
Conditioning Week: May 13-17, 6-8 p.m., instrument sections TBA depending on school scheduling and staff availability.
Band Camp: August 5-9, and 12-16, all day.

Instruments Available:
Snare Drum, Tenors, Bass Drum, and Cymbals. This is a marching battery rather than a sideline ensemble, so all members will march a spot on the field. Instruments will be assigned according to the results of your audition, and that is the instrument you will play all marching season.

Equally vital soft skills: attitude, coachability, and teamwork.
