HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE MADE IT IN?
Football playoffs will be determined by the team's standing at the end of the season. All class AAA schools' records will be ranked in order from best to worst, and the top 16 are chosen. As a general rule, our chance to make the playoffs starts with the team's 5th win of the season and increases with each one.
If we qualify, one playoff game each week will be played on either Friday evening, Saturday morning, or Saturday evening. If our record is in the top 8, we will host a game. If our record is between #9-16, we will travel to another school.

WHEN WILL WE FIND OUT?
Playoff participants and who plays who will be decided after the last game of the regular season on Friday, November 8. Athletic officials will work through the night to finalize the final rankings. The earliest possible time we will find out our playoff fate would be Saturday, November 9. After we find out who we will play in the first round, we will work with that school to determine the date and time of the game. Should we win that game, the process would start over with a new opponent the following week.

Playoff games are mandatory, just like the regular season. Potential dates have been posted since the spring to allow families to plan around them. We are aware that this is not as convenient as planning around other band events that only involve our students and our facilities, but it is inevitable when we are dealing with events that are dependent on knowing the results of each week's athletic contests. The scheduling is a crazy ride for all football players, cheerleaders, band members, and their families. We're all in this together - let's choose to enjoy it!
